About Indexo
Updated on
Indexo works out what you really keep in Belgium: net salary, tax, bonuses, notice pay, self-employed status. Every amount follows the path of a payslip and links to its official text.
The mission
For the same gross salary, online simulators often give different figures without saying why. Indexo shows every step of the calculation and its source, so you can check the result, understand it and use it.
The method
The calculation follows the order of a payslip: social security contributions, work bonus, withholding tax under Annex III to the Royal Decree implementing the Income Tax Code 1992, special social security contribution, holiday pay, then the estimated final tax. Amounts are rounded to the cent. The method, assumptions, limits and the full table of parameters are published on the home page: Method and assumptions, Parameters and sources, What has changed.
Our commitments
- Free. Every calculation for individuals is free, and will stay that way.
- Privacy. Everything is calculated in your browser. No data is sent or stored: no cookies, no account, no advertising. See the Privacy page.
- Sources. Each parameter links to its source, the official one where it exists, with the date it was checked. A secondary source is flagged as such.
- Transparency. The site shows its assumptions, its limits and what has changed. An estimate or a forecast is always presented as such.
Writing conventions
For readability, the French version of Indexo uses the masculine form, which refers to everyone. Amounts are in euros and rounded to the cent; when an example is rounded to the euro or to the nearest ten euros, the page says so. Technical terms are explained when you hover over or tap them, with the official term in brackets where useful.
