What does my copyright income really bring in?
Updated on
Since 1 November 2026, withholding tax on pay has been calculated differently (Royal Decree of 27 September 2026). The calculations on this page still follow the previous rules: for pay received from 1 November, withholding tax and net pay may differ. Update in progress.
What you keep from your copyright income in 2026, and what the same amount would give you as salary. Example for 2026: for €10,000 a year, €8,500 net.
What the tool calculates
Enter the amount of your copyright income: Indexo applies the flat-rate expense allowance and the 2026 withholding tax on investment income (roerende voorheffing / précompte mobilier), then compares it with what the same cost would give as salary.
What it does not cover
The copyright income regime has strict conditions (original work, actual transfer of the rights, annual ceiling). The tool gives indicative information: have your situation checked by an accountant.
