Paid mandate in a non-profit: what net salary in 2026?
Updated on
Since 1 November 2026, withholding tax on pay has been calculated differently (Royal Decree of 27 September 2026). The calculations on this page still follow the previous rules: for pay received from 1 November, withholding tax and net pay may differ. Update in progress.
Self-employed as a main occupation: for €30,000 of profit a year, €1,667.82 net a month on average, in 2026, for a single person with no children (parameters as of 1 October 2026). You set your prices and deduct your expenses, but a minimum contribution is due every quarter.
Alongside a salaried job
Employee with a self-employed side activity. A salaried job of at least half-time and a self-employed activity on the side. With a salary of €3,000 gross a month and €10,000 of profit a year from the side activity, the total net is about €2,633.10 a month.
Good to know
A paid director’s mandate in a non-profit association (ASBL/vzw) generally falls under the social status of the self-employed, as a secondary occupation if you also have a salaried job. Its tax treatment depends on the nature of the mandate: have it checked by an accountant.
