Hotels and catering (JC 302): what minimum wage in 2026?

Who is covered?

Joint committee 302 (CP 302 in French, PC 302 in Dutch) is the one for the hotel and catering industry: restaurants, cafés, hotels, caterers, function rooms… Casual workers (extras) and flexi-job workers in hotels and catering also come under this committee.

How do you read the pay scale?

The minimum depends on your job category (from 1 to 9, with categories 1 and 2 on the same scale) and on your seniority, from 0 to 45 years. The scale is an hourly wage; the monthly amount corresponds to 164.6666 hours, i.e. 38 hours a week.

These amounts are minimums: your employer can pay you more. They can never be lower than the guaranteed average minimum monthly income (€2,233.61 full-time), see the net minimum wage.

How much net on the pay scale?

Indexation: when does your pay scale go up?

Every year, on 1 January. Based on the change in the health index over one year. Indexation applies to the pay scales and to actual salaries. Your employer cannot refuse it.

• Next indexation: Forecast from July 2026, made before this summer’s rise in inflation.

If this forecast proves right, a salary of €2,504.53 gross a month (the lowest minimum on the scale: categories 1 and 2, less than a year) would rise by €87.51 gross, or about €11.29 net a month for a single person.

Cents indexation. Since 1 June 2026 (Programme Act of 30 May 2026, applying to all sectors), for a salary above €4,000 gross a month full-time, the first 2 indexation points are calculated on €4,000, i.e. at most €80 a month; the rest of the indexation applies as normal. Year-end bonus

• Who is entitled: At least two months’ unbroken service with the same employer during the year; 44 days for casual workers (extras).
• Amount: Up to 4 and 1/3 weeks’ pay for a full year, pro rata otherwise. Paid by the Fonds social et de garantie Horeca (the sector fund).
• Payment: In January of the following year (by 10 January 2026 at the latest for the 2025 bonus, if the worker is still employed).

Other amounts in the sector

• Work clothing: €2.20 per working day if the employer neither provides nor maintains the clothing.
• Night bonus: €1.6209 an hour for work between midnight and 5 a.m.
