International trade and logistics (JC 226): which pay scale in 2026?
Updated on
Since 1 November 2026, withholding tax on pay has been calculated differently (Royal Decree of 27 September 2026). The calculations on this page still follow the previous rules: for pay received from 1 November, withholding tax and net pay may differ. Update in progress.
As of 1 January 2026, the minimum salary for white-collar workers in international trade, transport and logistics under JC 226 ranges from €2,574.27 to €5,960.82 gross a month. At the bottom of the scale, a single person keeps €2,187.64 net a month.
Next indexation: 1 January 2027, about +3.66% (forecast, Partena Professional; forecast made in July 2026, before this summer’s rise in inflation). You can check the pay scale for your job with the tool on this page.
Who is covered?
Joint committee 226 (CP 226 in French, PC 226 in Dutch) covers white-collar workers in international trade, transport and logistics: international trade (import and export), transport and logistics companies. Blue-collar drivers and warehouse workers in these sectors often come under JC 140.03.
How do you read the pay scale?
The minimum depends on your job class, from 1 to 8, and on your seniority. The scale rises in steps: 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 21 years, then 25, 30, 35, 40, 42 and 45 years. Between two steps, the amount for the last step reached applies.
These pay scales are new: they came into force on 1 January 2026. They are indexed every year on 1 January.

If this forecast proves right, a salary of €2,574.27 gross a month (the lowest minimum on the scale: class 1, less than a year) would rise by €94.22 gross, or about €15.25 net a month for a single person.
Cents indexation. Since 1 June 2026 (Programme Act of 30 May 2026, applying to all sectors), for a salary above €4,000 gross a month full-time, the first 2 indexation points are calculated on €4,000, i.e. at most €80 a month; the rest of the indexation applies as normal. The pay scales on this page stay below this threshold, except the highest. Source: Partena Professional.

Frequently asked questions
Does my pay scale go up every year in JC 226?
No, in steps. For example, in class 3, the minimum goes from €2,966.08 with no seniority to €3,013.35 after 1 year, €3,070.17 after 3 years and €3,141.30 after 6 years. Between two steps, it only changes with indexation.
Does JC 226 provide a year-end bonus?
Yes: one month’s salary, including the average of the variable parts over the last 12 months. It is due pro rata if you have not worked the whole year, except in the case of serious misconduct or termination during the first six months.
What if my salary is below the JC 226 pay scale?
First check your category or class, and the seniority taken into account. Then ask your employer for a correction, in writing: the tool on this page drafts the message. If nothing changes, contact your trade union or the Control on Social Legislation inspectorate of FPS Employment. Pay arrears can be claimed.
How do I know if I come under JC 226?
The joint committee number is on your payslip and often in your contract. It depends on the company’s main activity and on your status (blue-collar or white-collar worker), not on your occupation.
