Joint committee 200: what minimum wage in 2026?

Updated on

Am I paid at least the JC 200 minimum?

As of 1 January 2026, the minimum salary for white-collar workers under JC 200 ranges from €2,242.81 to €3,722.55 gross a month. At the bottom of the scale, a single person keeps €2,108.38 net a month.

Next indexation: 1 January 2027, about +4.32% (forecast, Acerta, via L’Avenir; SD Worx forecast 3.76% on 28 August 2026; the official percentage is known at the end of December or in early January). You can check the pay scale for your job with the tool on this page.

Who is covered?

Joint committee 200 (CP 200 in French, PC 200 in Dutch) is the Supplementary Joint Committee for White-Collar Workers. It covers white-collar workers in companies whose activity does not come under any joint committee specific to white-collar workers, in many sectors: offices, services, wholesale trade, SMEs of all kinds. It is the country’s largest white-collar sector.

Blue-collar workers in the same companies come under another joint committee, often JC 100 (supplementary committee for blue-collar workers) or their own sector’s committee.

How do you read the pay scale?

The minimum depends on three things:

  • your job class: A (operational roles), B (support), C (management) or D (advisory). It depends on what the job involves, not on qualifications;
  • your relevant work experience, in years, including with other employers;
  • your seniority in the company: scale I applies during the first year, the slightly higher scale II from the second year.

Indexation: when does your pay scale go up?

Every year, on 1 January. Smoothed health index for November and December of the past year, divided by that for November and December of the year before. Indexation applies to the pay scales and to actual salaries. Your employer cannot refuse it.

  • Next indexation: SD Worx forecast 3.76% on 28 August 2026; the official percentage is known at the end of December or in early January.

If this forecast proves right, a salary of €2,242.81 gross a month (the lowest minimum on the scale: scale I, class A, less than a year) would rise by €96.89 gross, or about €41.30 net a month for a single person.

Cents indexation. Since 1 June 2026 (Programme Act of 30 May 2026, applying to all sectors), for a salary above €4,000 gross a month full-time, the first 2 indexation points are calculated on €4,000, i.e. at most €80 a month; the rest of the indexation applies as normal. The pay scales on this page stay below this threshold. Source: Partena Professional.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between scale I and scale II?

Scale I applies during your first year in the company; scale II from the second year. For class A with one year’s experience, the difference is €60.73 gross a month in 2026.

How do I find out my job class?

It should be stated in your contract or your job description. It depends on the tasks you actually perform, not on your title or qualifications. If in doubt, ask your employer or your trade union in writing.

What if my salary is below the JC 200 pay scale?

First check your category or class, and the seniority taken into account. Then ask your employer for a correction, in writing: the tool on this page drafts the message. If nothing changes, contact your trade union or the Control on Social Legislation inspectorate of FPS Employment. Pay arrears can be claimed.

How do I know if I come under JC 200?

The joint committee number is on your payslip and often in your contract. It depends on the company’s main activity and on your status (blue-collar or white-collar worker), not on your occupation.
